Welcome to the 8th Brighton City Race - 6.30pm Saturday 16 December 2017
The main event is a 10Km race between checkpoints located around the seafront and city centre. The competition will visit many of the city’s top attractions as well as the famous Brighton Lanes. There are junior and age class courses of various distances, making the event ideal for novices as well as experienced runners.
Last year's (2016) details:
The event will start next to Brighton Station, with the senior courses heading out to newly mapped areas. A clothing transfer will be available back to the finish/assembly at Middle Street School. The junior race will be run entirely within the Brighton Lanes. The event is the final round of the South of England Orienteering League and prize giving will take place at 8pm. Refreshments will be available at assembly.
Middle Street School is in central Brighton and easily accessible by public transport. Final details will be published in the week commencing Monday 12 December 2016.

[30 Nov 16] The twelve competition classes are:
- M/W Open (over 16)
- M/W Veteran (over 40)
- M/W Super Veteran (over 55)
- M/W Ultra Veteran (over 65)
- M/W Junior (12-16)
- M/W Accompanied Junior (U16)
An 'accompanied junior' is any junior under 16 under the close supervision of a responsible adult.
[23 Nov 16] For reasons of safety, junior competitors are bound by a number of entry rules:
· Under 12s (age on day of race) must be accompanied
· Over 12s (age on day of race) may run the junior course unaccompanied if they are normally able to complete a green course unaccompanied.
· Under 16s (age on day of race) may not run any of the adult courses unaccompanied.

[15 Nov 16] Entries are now open. Sportident is offering a free upgrade to contactless punching. Simply leave the SI card field empty and you will automatically be allocated a SIAC hire card for the evening.
